Introduction
The digital platform "Boats and Boatbuilding in Modern Cultural Heritage" is an initiative with two main goals:
• The support of the wooden boatbuilding
• The cessation of the subsidized destruction of fishing boats.
Wooden boatbuilding must be supported in every way and especially with the institutional recognition of its cultural value. Young people need to be motivated to learn the art and to practice it professionally intheir place of residence.
Fishermen must collect the maximum amount of their subsidy to stop fishing without this leading to the destruction of their boat.
The platform hosts the views of people who share its goals. It supports the obvious: the salvage of the wooden boats and to continuation of wooden boatbuilding on the islands and coastal areas of Greece.
